As per new rule, you can attempt maximum 3 times starting from 2017. That means if you appeared in 2017, it is considered as your first attempt.

Hello Vinod

You can have a maximum of three attempts in NEET, the maximum age been 30 years if you are appearing wire a reservation for SC or St, however no reservation if you are opting for the unreserved category

You also mast and secured a minimum of 50% nature physics chemistry and Biology in your class 12 board examinations for the unreserved category and 40% in each of them for the reserved category

You must also have crossed 17 years of age by the 31st of the year in which you are giving your Neet Examination to be held eligible for counselling after you have got a minimum of 360 out of 720 in the examination for general and 40 marks less for the reserved categories

An important. Over here is that the maximum number of attempts holds true from the 2017 Neet, so that means if you have given any examination before 2017 Neet that does not nullify your number of attempts of giving Neet

Hope this helps, thank you

Hello vinod, there are various news and rumors about the attempts like 9,14 etc.. But i would like to inform that there is no such communication from any reliable source LIKE CBSE, Health ministry, MCI/NMC

So till date the rule stand as

Number of attempt - 3

Counting of Attempts - from 2017 onward, means any attempt prior to 2016 will not be counted in 3 attempts, if student appeared in NEET UG 2017, that will be considered as first attempt....

Age criteria - minimum 17 yrs... MAXIMUM - no upper limit...

Hopefully it helps

Hello Vinod ,

From 2017 onwards, candidates are allowed a total of three attempts in NEET. If they haven't appeared for NEET 2017, then their appearance for NEET 2018 will be considered as the first attempt and they will be able to appear in NEET two more times.

Good luck

With whatever we know as on date, the maximum number of attempts allowed for NEET-UG examination is 3 ONLY.

If you've already appeared for NEET-UG in the year 2017 that will be counted as your first attempt.

Any changes regarding this rule has not been declared yet. So this is the speculated rule at present.
