If you're talking about JEE Mains. I'd recommend focusing on covering chapters thoroughly rather than on the number. Ideally, you should complete one chapter per day. Focus on covering chapters thoroughly because depth of knowledge is important. I recommend covering as many chapters as possible.

Topics that are only covered in the JEE main NCERT are sufficient.
