Economically Weaker Section in India is a subcategory of people belonging to the General Category having an annual family income less than ₹8 lakhs and who do not belong to any reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC. EWS will have 10% reservation in NEET.

A total of 291 seats are added under EWS category in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the order of MCI, UP has become the 3rd State to implement the 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Quota which would be in action right from this year itself.

Accordingly, there has been an increase of about 300 seats in the Medical Colleges of Uttar Pradesh under the EWS Quota for which the students can apply.

Uttar Pradesh became third state to approve reservation om EWS quota.The exact number of seats reserved is not exact in number but its sure that the ews quota has implemented in UP.
