How many management seats for MBBS in cmc vellore?
NEET 2024: Cutoff (OBC, SC, ST & General Category)
NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
CMC,Vellore has a slightly different admissions criterion. It does have a managment quota. In fact 85 out of the sanctioned 100 seats are admitted through the managment quota. The difference here is that the seats are reserved for christian students who would promise to serve for two years after their graduation in the rural clinics run by the church would be given preference.
And the institute sought to get an excemption from common councelling on that grounds. The supreme court of india did not concede to that demand and mandated that CMC follow the same procedure as others. In fact the court during hearing orally observed that nearly 30000 christian candidates appear for NEET and CMC could easily find the 100 it needs.
CMC did not agree to the same and has suspended admissions during this academic year.
Hi Ganesh
There is no management quota in Cmc Vellore similar ton that seen in other private colleges. There is a staff quota whereby children of staff who have put in more than 10 years of service can be selected ( after the NEET entrance qualification and selection list). Basically the number of seats that the management is entitled to have as management quota is set aside as staff quota. Since NEET does not affect the broad structure of admission ( all existing quotas will continue but the counselling will be a central process) I think this should not be affected. The exact scene will only be known next year.
