- To get admission in AFMC Pune, you should score a minimum of 550 marks, the cut-off for 2017 was around 560-570. Please note that previous years cut-offs are not applicable for your admission.
- Admission into AFMC Pune is also dependent on your medical fitness that will be assessed at the college. Also, there is no OBC quota as such.
More than worrying about marks and ranks, I suggest that you focus on the preparation for the exam.
Here are a few tips for NEET preparation:
- Ensure that you are thorough with the NCERT prescribed textbooks, so that you have a strong foundation to tackle the questions.
- Solve papers in a mock exam format towards the end of your preparation. Analyse them as well; outlining the strengths and weaknesses.
- Plan your studies. Make a schedule of the topics you want to complete for the particular day, so that you don't waste time on deciding what to do. Don't keep the schedule rigid.
- Ensure that you are enjoying from time to time. Maintain good health as well.

AFMC is a highly sought after college, and is generally difficult to get into.
It's cutoffs are quite high; 497 in 2016 and 570 this year.
I recommend you maintain a base score of at least 450 to 500 to stand a chance. If cutoffs go high as they did this year, you will have to work very hard. Be thorough with NCERT and practice MCQs regularly.
Hope this helps!
1.Appear NEET and Wait for the result
2. After the result is declared go to the website of MCC( OR AIPMEE) and register yourself for AFMC
3. Nearly 2000 candidates will be shortlisted for the final interview at AFMC
4. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for two more tests at AFMC Pune namely TOELR(test of English language and reasoning) and PAT(Psychological Aptitude test- to asses your personality, N.B.-no marks for this test)
5. This is followed by a pre interview with the Brigadier general and then the final interview with a panel of interviewer consisting of the Dean and other officers of AFMC.
6. Lastly a full body medical check up will be done to ensure that AFMC gets healthy and disease free Medicos.
Now the final score is counted as follows:
NEET MARKS ( out of 720) /4 +ToELR marks(out of 80)/4+ interview score( out of 50)
So dont bother much about marks, which are more relevant to get shortlisted for final interview than a guaranteed admission.Even the NEET topper may not take admission inAFMC if he is medically unfit.Anyway a good mark range of 520- 600 or more depending upon that year's NEET difficulty level can be safest.
Wish you all the best
In 2014, it was 487 out of 720 for boys and 536 out of 720 for girls.
In 2015, it was it was 478 out of 720 for boys and 537 out of 720 for girls.
In 2016, it was 498 out of 720 for boys and 536 out of 720 for girls.
In 2017, it was 570 out of 720 for boys and 600 out of 720 for girls.
The above marks are for open category students. Given the immense amount of competition for this college, the cut off marks for OBC candidates is more or less the same. So you must consider preparing accordingly.
A target of 580 marks and above should keep you in a safe zone. It also depends on the toughness of the paper and the number of candidates performing well in the examination and also aiming to get into AFMC just like you. Basically it's a permutation and combination of a number of vital factors.
Also, I hope you might be knowing that, attaining cut off marks in NEET doesn't imply admission into the institution. You need to appear for ToELR, which is a computer based test, where your logic and reasoning, English and comprehensive skills are tested. Qualifying ToELR is important if you intend to gain admission in this college.
Thank you for asking your doubt.
The cut-off for afmc this year was 570 for boys n 585 for girls ( both belonging to open category)
I would same if you score more than 600,your admission to AFMC is guaranteed.
All the best with your preparation
