VIT never reveals the marks of VITEEE, thats why its having ranking system for various categories according to your ranks. To be honest one of my friend got 17K rank and got a seat in 1st category and still there were 20 seats left for 1st category.(in my opinion you should have to score approx 60/120) to get a seat in 12 categories,where you have to pay an usual fees for engineering for a college like VIT. Bt dont be demoralise if u got rank above 20K u can still have a chance of getting a seat in 35 categories which can be secured under rank 50K- 60K . Only difference is that you have to pay more money.

According to my point of view if you are getting seat in 5th category for mechanical engineering, dont take it because VIT is very well renowed for its CS and IT hub not for mechanical, it have placements from mechanical also bt only few no. Of students got those dream offers, if u really belive that you will study well here then u should suerly take!! Or otherwise try in some other colleges !!

Hi Dishan!

Vit offering two types of mechanical engineering i.e, Mechanical (Spec. in Automotive Engineering) and Mechanical (Spec. in Energy Engineering). The cutoff for these both branches vary from year to year as decided by college that based on number of students appearing on that particular year. As per analysis the cutoff for Mechanical (Spec. in Automotive Engineering) is 20,000 and for Mechanical (Spec. in Energy Engineering) is 25,000.

Hope this helps.

All the Best!

Hey!There
Seeing previous year cuttoff of VITEEE,you need rank under 19k in general category..It may changed as closing rank for any specific branch depends upon ranking of Institute and number of students interested in that stream..
Refer to below mentioned link for previous year cuttoff of VIT VELLORE;

Hello Dishan,

VIT-Vellore Institute of Technology, has 4 branches in Vellore, Chennai, Amravati, and Bhopal. VIT conducts a general entrance exam just like JEE but far easier than JEE Main. https://engineering.careers360.com/exams/viteee . Based on your ranking in this exam known as VITEEE, a common rank list is generated. VIT being a private institute has no quota for any caste or state. Now based on your rank in VITEEE, you are allowed to choose a branch of your choice in any of the 4 campuses. For getting Mechanical in the main campus, i.e. VELLORE, your rank should be definitely under 20k and around 16k for getting Mechanical under normal fee structure. Having a higher rank but wanting a more preferrable seat in preffered campus will cause you to pay more fees.

For getting Mechanical branch in Chennai Campus, your rank should be near around 30k.

VIT does not discose the marks obtained by students as well as the e-OMR and the question therefore it is hard to predict the score. Out of 125 questions, you should have around 60 correct.

Hope this helps

Regards.
