Hi,
Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) provide BTech admission to candidates who qualify JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced, on the basis of IIT cut off. However, JEE Advanced is not the only criteria for IIT admissions. Before appearing for this exam, candidates also need to take JEE Main. Currently, there are a total of 23 IITs in India that offer more than 10,000 BTech seats. Engineering aspirants seeking admission into the IITs in India will have to qualify both JEE examinations – JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
JEE Main 2020 is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) twice a year: first time in January and second in April (In September this year due to COVID-19), for admissions to the NITs, IIITs & GFTIs. Till 2018, the exam was being held by CBSE. The exam is also the first stage of IIT admission process. JEE Advanced is the second stage of this process for candidates seeking admission to the 23 IITs in India. Every year around 10 lakh candidates appear for the exam aspiring for IIT admission. But, only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced examination.
Hope this helps
Wish you luck
