Seriously  SC and ST people are the most previliaged in this aspect...their cut off is almost 10 marks less than  general category..

And if you qualify gate just apply CCMT, you will definitely get seat in any Nit  at least spot councelling..don't listen to people who say that you won't get into any with this score and all such bull shit comments...and regret after every thing goes out  from  your hand..if just getting mtech seat is your priority...else  depends on the area...usually  design, thermal are hot cakes...you can't get them unless your score is 550+ for obc and 640+ for general...the cutoff purely depends on the area and college...

This depends on the cutoff of jee mains.

From previous year's records,to get an average NIT you need to score at least 180 above marks in jee mains and to get lower rank NITs you have to score above 140 marks in jee mains.

To get admission in top NITs you need to score atleast 220 above marks in jee mains.

Hey buddy, to get ECE branch at TOp NITS, IIIT or top private engineering College you need 240+ score if you are from General category.

However, to get average NITs you need 200+ score and to get lower NITs you need 160+ score if you are from General category.

Similarly the score for OBC/SC/ST category is lesser than General category students.

For OBC students - 190+ to get TOp NITS ,IIIT

For SC students - 165+ to get TOp NITS, IIIT

So a rank under 1015k can fetch you a top NITs. Accordingly your score in JEE Mains Paper 1 should be more than 180+ (200+ to be on the safer side) atleast. For lower ranked NITs 150+ must do the job.



And also your rank depends upon difficulty level of that years paper and since the the merit list determining cretria has changed nothing can be said accurately.
