Hi,
Well only marks don't matter. Also the thing that matters is that whether you are a localite or a outsider. They make a index with your marks and your hometown distance from the University and then gives you a hostel index according to which hostel is alloted. There are only 62 rooms for maths students in Ramakrishna hostel and that includes 126 students.

Well try and score above 250 for maths group students. The index as I mentioned also depends on other things like the distance of your home from the University for hostel allotment. But try to score above that and you will obviously have a plus point if you are not a native of Varanasi. Many students who weren't the native residents of Varanasi got hostel even with pretty low marks.
