How many marks I required to get admission in government MBBS colleges for open catagery
Hi,
The score needed to get admission in any medical college depends on many factors like cutoff for the year, your state and category. You have the greatest chances of getting admission in medical college of your state as the 85% seats of any state are reserved for the candidates belonging to that state, leaving only 15% of the seats to be filled by the all India quota.
Besides the cut off for each year keeps varying which will decide your NEET rank.
So work hard, aim high. Keep target of achieving at least a score of 600. Rest will be done.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
hi shubham, it all depends on what category you belong to and what reservation you have, whether you have state quota or not , but i would suggest that aim for 580 plus, its high , i know but absolutely doable , so aim for it.NEET 2018 Examination is most likely to be held on 10th May (Thursday) 2018 . NEET 2018 Application Form will be released in the month of January 2018.CBSE conducts NEET for admission across all medical colleges in india except aiims, and jipmer. The exam pattern is as follows:-
physics-45 questions each carrying 4 marks
chemistry-45 questions,each carrying 4 marks
and biology 90 questions each carrying 4 marks as well.hope this helps good luck
As per your query about marks cutoff, you must be knowing that there is All India Quota 15 % and State government quota 85%...
Cut off by All India quota is always higher than state quota..Further in both the quota the SEAT is further divided as per category like Open, SC , OBC , ST, etc..It will vary for each groupThe Cutoff also vary in Government, Private and Deemed UniversityAlso difffer college to college even in government /private/deeemedThe marks vary each year based on the difficulty level of the paper
BUT GOING BY PREVIOUS YEAR TREND FOR GENRAL CATEGORY A MBBS SEAT is obtained around 480 - 650 marks range..

To be on a safer side, target a score above 560 marks so that you land up in some government medical college regardless of the level of question paper and how many students perform well in the examination.
The cut of scores are only shifting higher up the score board every year, so you shouldn't settle for a score less than 560. The higher your scores, the better.
A good score to crack neet would be 560-600, to get a government seat.
Goodluck.
Hope this helps.
The criteria for admission to a government college using meet may vary from ear to ear and depending on whether you are trying to opt to colleges all over India using your all India rank or colleges in your state using the state rank.
Overall I would recommend if you get a score of above 550 out of 720 you should be getting a rank decent enough to secure a seat in the Government Medical College of your state to the state rank.
Pending on the percentile you obtain or how well the other students all across India have performed in the particular Neet examination of the year in which you are appearing, you might also think of availing a seat in a Government Medical College of some other state to the 15% all India quota which is available to you.
Final advise if you are appearing for the open category you should we aiming to score nothing less than 450 to 500 to get into some government college.
Of course if you want a decent government college or one of the reputed once through the state or all India quota then you have to get something above 550 preferably .
Hope this helps thank you
