It depends on number of candidates ahead of you who scored equal or below marks.Percentile is the percentage of candidates who scored equal or less marks.But to get a percentile above 90 your score must be in between 68-77 marks in the exam.

Getting 90 percentile is not very tough in JEE Main and I would suggest you to set you goal little higher if you can.
If you look at the JEE Main marks vs percentile the at around 75 marks you would get close to 90 percentile.
90 percentile means 90 percent students are behind you suppose 10 lakh students appear for exam then 90 percentile would mean your rank is around 1 lakh
