Hello aspirant,

The subsequent counseling process will be open to those who score at or over the designated cut-off. The official brochure states that in order to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024, students must receive at least 35% in the general category, 31.5% in the OBC-NCL/EWS category, and 17.5% in the SC/ST/PwD category.

To qualify for JEE Advanced as a General category student, you need to score above the minimum percentile in JEE Main. This cutoff changes each year based on factors like the difficulty level of the exam and the number of candidates, but it’s usually around 93-94% percentile.

Keep in mind that even if you meet this cutoff, only the top 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main are allowed to sit for JEE Advanced. So, it’s always better to aim for a higher score to improve your chances.

Make sure to stay updated with official announcements for exact details, and focus on consistent preparation to boost your performance!

Hello there,

To qualify for JEE Advanced in the General category , a candidate must meet the JEE Main cutoff and the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria . Here's a general overview:

  1. JEE Main Cutoff :

    • The JEE Main cutoff for General category students typically ranges between 85-90 marks out of 300, depending on the exam year and difficulty level. This cutoff is the minimum score required to be eligible for JEE Advanced.

  2. JEE Advanced Eligibility :

    • To be eligible for JEE Advanced , a candidate must be among the top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify for JEE Main, considering the category-specific reservations.

    • This number includes students from all categories, and once you qualify based on JEE Main, you can then appear for JEE Advanced.

  3. Rank Consideration :

    • Even if you qualify for JEE Advanced, your rank and performance in the exam will determine which IITs and courses you're eligible for.

It’s essential to keep track of the official announcements from the NTA (National Testing Agency) for any changes to the cutoff or eligibility criteria.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

To qualify for JEE (Advanced) 2025 as a General category candidate, you must rank among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) 2025.  Additionally, you should have been born on or after October 1, 2000, and have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.  Specific qualifying marks are not predetermined, as they depend on the relative performance of all candidates.
