Now the new system has developed that percentile is given on basis of the highest scorer of the shift.
Take me as an example. ...
I have scored 130 marks in jee January. ..my percentile was 94.9.
I have scored 162 marks in Jee April. ...but my percentile was 93.5.
But in 2018 the rank predicted for 162 marks is about 14k
Though I got less marks in My JEE January, it was taken into consideration to give my rank.
I got 57.2k(crl) and 7.2k(gen Ews).
After the result in Jan jee mains my predicted rank was 42k but after 2nd attempt though I have secured marks the result is not proper and the rank went to 57k.
My friends who got 15 marks less than me got 97.2 as their percentile.
How can that be possible?? My dreams to study in NIT got smashed.
- So I suggest you to target the total 360 marks in jee mains to get a descent rank.
- Don't rely on the previous year marks and ranks.
