In general UPSC means Union Public Service commission examination for IAS and IFS, candidate has to be an Indian first. Candidates have to complete graduation level of examination. Age limit for the examination is 21 to 32 as on 1st January of the examination year . The candidate has to appear for a preliminary test of two papers which consist of general studies andIAS aptitude test each of 200 marks and multiple choice of questions, the total marks is for that preliminary examination is 400. After qualifying in the preliminary examination that list 50% marks candidate has to be qualified for appearing in the main examination. Main examination is of 1 Indian language paper of 300 marks, English of 300 narks and three general studies paper of 250 each, 2 x optional papers of of 250 each. Sub - of the marks is 1750. Interview and group discussion is of 275 marks. Grand total of the marks is 2250. The candidate of general category and EWS category can get attempts of 6 times, OBC category candidate can get attempts of 9 times, SC &ST candidate can get attemots up to their age limit according to reservation.
