The number of marks required to crack JEE Main varies from one year to the other and depends on the following factors: the difficulty level of the exam, number of students appearing, and overall performance of the candidates.

Nevertheless, to be rank-holder or get admitted into the top engineering colleges, you will have to aim high. During last couple of years a score of around 180-200 or above has been considered as a good score for the General category.

To enhance your scope of getting a good rank, focus on the following:

Strong Fundamentals: Ensure that the foundation of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is well established.

Practice Regularly: Practice previous years' question papers as well as practice tests to get familiar with the exam pattern and use the time well.

Time Management: Identify ways of managing time effectively at the exam time.

Seek Guidance: Choose teachers and mentors or join a good coaching institute for proper guidance.

Stay Positive and Consistent: Maintain a positive attitude and keep on working consistently towards your goal.

The essence of success in the JEE Main examination is hard work and dedication made on the right strategy.
