Hey!

There are two exams, a candidate needs to qualify to get admission in any of the IITs. And for sc candidates, minminum 5% of total score is needed in each section of exam (mathematics, chemistry and physics). And total of 17% (minimum) is needed to clear the exam. But don't limit yourself to 17% as it will just help you in qualifying both exams, but not to get seat in any of IIT or NITs. So try at least to score 40-45% of total marks and secure rank about less than 4000 to get the best and most preferred seats in IITs or NITs.

Hope I answered your query

Thank you

Anything more than 45% of total score is sufficient to get a good branch (maybe CSE) in an old IIT for an SC candidate.

I have seen SC people with AIR ~4000 getting CSE in IIT Bombay.

All the best :)

But, do not limit yourself to AIR 4000.

Unless you work hard enough to get AIR < 3000, you cannot guarantee that you will get AIR < 4000.
