1. Assessment of Merit: The merit of the candidate shall be assessed on the basis of the marks obtained by him/her in the qualifying
   examination for admission to the particular course, subject to such criteria such as may be prescribed by the University. Norms with regard to the award of bonus marks for sports activities will be issued separately. These marks shall be added to the marks obtained for the qualifying examination in drawing up the selection list.
