The percentage and ranks vary for different colleges regarding admissions.

also,  every university has its own cutoff in giving admissions to the students.

So, atleast to meet the qualification percentage for getting in to b.tech stream require atleast a 60 percent in 12th and some good rank in entrance exaamination like EAMCET, JEE, TS CET, SRMJEE,  which are the some of the entrance examinations for getting in to b.tech stream.

you should be getting atleast a 65-70 peecent of marks and a reasonable rank in between 50,000 and below so that you will be getting admission in good and top colleges and hence your career will be gOod.

if you are getting above a rank of 60,000 ,the colleges you get will be having lower standards of studies.

maximum now a days the all the students get opted for only engineering only so in the total india there will be around 85 to 90 percentage of students how get opted for engineering but only  few join for degree but this number may vary from state to state and from college top college but this difference will be about only change in small number but not in big number as there are great opportunities for the engineering students in this present situation inj india so this percent is more in only india when compared to the other countries
