There are approximately 532 Medical Colleges in India. This number includes both Government and Private Medical Colleges. As of November 2019, there are 272 Government Medical Colleges with approximately 41,388 seats. And the rest 252 Private Medical Colleges have 35540 MBBS seats. And all these seats are filled through NEET score following the Constitutional reservations.

As of March 2020, there are 19,953 MD seats, 10,821 MS Seats, 1979 PG Diploma seats and 1338 DNB CET seats in 6102 MS/MD/PG Diploma Colleges and 649 DNB Hospitals.
