how many questions should I attempt in UPSC premilinary 2021 exam of paper 1 and paper 2 I am under ST category.
Hi
There is no exemption for category students on the number of questions needed to be attempted . The question paper, paper pattern, marking scheme, negative marking for wrong answers is the same for everyone attempting UPSC preliams irrespective of caste. However there is a certain percentage of seats fixed for caste category candidates in UPSC like in every government sector jobs.
UPSC preliminary examination comprises of 2 compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
Paper 1 general studies - 100 questions for 200 marks.
Only this paper will be considered for preliams cut off.
Paper 2 general studies (CSAT) - 80 questions for 200 marks
This paper is of qualifying nature. Candidates will have to score 33% to qualify this paper.
Both are objective types and will be of 2 hours each.
Hope this answers your query!
