How many questions to be attempt in every section of mat exam to get a good score?
Hi Anubhav,
There are 5 sections in MAT exam pattern with total of 200 questions, 40 in each question. They are
- Language Comprehension : Most of the questions in this section are direct in nature, you can easily score 20-24 marks.
- Data Analysis and sufficiency : In this section 30 are from DI and 10 are from DS which are of moderate level. A candidate may score 15-20 marks.
-
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning :
In this section, 28 are analytical reasoning and 12 are Critical reasoning questions. A score of 20-23 questions should get you good percentile.
- Indian and Global environment : This section is not considered while counting score. No need to attempt this section. But if you attempt a wrong answer, negative marking will be done.
- Mathematical Skills : Even if you are weak you can attempt 3-4 questions atleast with basics knowledge.
The marking scheme for this test is 1 mark per every correct answer and a negative marking of 0.25 marks per every incorrect answer.
Hope it helps to score a good percentile.
