How many seats are there for IIT?

The number of seats for IIT change every year and they are allocated on merit basis of the students. The number of seats in IIT in the year 2018 was 11279 which had an increase of 291 seats as compared to 2017.
The maximum number of seats offered the institutes are
- IIT Kharagpur (1342)
- IIT Varanasi(1071)
- IIT Roorkee(975)

Hello aspirant, for the recent years,There are in all 23 current IITs that offer 11,289 seats for academic session 2018-19. IIT(Indian Institutes of Technology) are expected to increase the seats in B.Tech coursed due to the implementation of 10% reservation for EWS. Almost 25% of seats in these institutes will go up.
