BHU has total no. of 1248 seats in faculty of arts in which seats are divided for MA in english, hindi, Urdu, Persian, Marathi, Sanskrit, Bengali, French, German, Arabic, Nepali,, Pali Telugu, Linguistic, I.P.R, A.I.H.C.& Arch., Philosophy, History of Art. For M.A. in englosh seats division is such that:
- BHU department of english - 77
- VCW - Rajghat - 30
- VKM - kamachha - 30
- DAV P.G. College - 30
- Arya mahila P.G. college - 30
