How many seats are there for mbbs (including government, semi government and self financed) in 2020 in Gujarat for SC category in total ?
Dear Aspirant,
As per reservation allowed for different categories of the society for admission against numerous academic courses in public/government institutes of the country, 15% seats are reserved for SC students in government mbbs colleges, especially in central Institutes. This norm is also followed in states as well by giving the SCs their fair share in the reservation system or quota system.
There are like 3650 mbbs seats in the government Medical Institutes of Gujarat. By rough estimations, 15% of the seats means like 550 seats to be approximately. Generally, private institutes do not provide fee reimbursement to any reservation Category. They treat every student in the same parameter or unreserved category. Therefore, I can not say for sure if there are any private medical colleges in Gujarat which offer SC seats in particular. Sure, they have scholarship schemes, but no reservation for any particular Category of the society.
As far as partly or semi government Medical Institutes is concerned, it only means that the Institute is partly funded by the government (state) but the college is run by the Management of the Private Enterprise. In such colleges, certain part of the fees is reimbursed by the Institute for reservation candidates as state government helps in paying part of the fees.
I hope this information helps you in the way that it is meant to be.
There are approximately 3263 MBBS seats and 900 BDS seats across all Medical Colleges of Gujarat. This includes through both All India and State Counselings following Constitutional reservations.
