As of 2021, the total no. of seats for under graduate program in all IIT is 16232.

Among the total of 7000, general or unreserved students have only 5263 seats to fill in. From the rest of the seats there are 2658 seats for OBC candidate, 1595 seats for scheduled castes candidate and 737 seats for scheduled tribe candidates respectively.
