Every year over 1.5 Lakhs candidates compete in JEE Advanced. In 2019 the total number of candidates who appeared in JEE Advanced in paper 1 and paper 2 are  161319 out of which 38705 candidates qualified in JEE Advanced. For JEE Mains 2019 January session 9.42 lakhs candidates registered for JEE Main paper 1 and approximately 2 lakhs candidates qualify in it.
