The candidates who will apply for the NEET 2018 to get admission in the concerned courses will be given the limited number of attempts to give NEET. The number of attempts will be 3 attempts for candidates who will appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test along with the fulfilment of the other eligibility requirements. Appearance in the NEET 2017 will be counted as the first attempt. Earlier, it was being prescribed that the candidates who have already availed the three attempts will not be permissible to appear for NEET 2017. Therefore, the candidates cannot fill the application form for the year 2017. But later it has been sought out by the MCI that the attempts made by the candidates for AIPMT/NEET prior to 2017 should not be counted. The candidates who will be appeared in the NEET 2017 then that attempt will be counted as their first attempt irrespective of the previous attempts. Candidates who could not fill the application form will now be able to fill the application form and appear for the entrance examination.
