You need to qualify/clear clat at least once and then on the basis of rank obtained by you in clat you can get admission in 5 year llb in nlus etc. But in the worst case even if you fail to get a seat then you can appear again for clat as there is no attempt limit and upper age limit in clat examination so one can appear as many times as he or she wants.

*You must be either appearing for your 12th board examination or should have passed it

just because there is no attempt limit and age limit doesn't mean that one should take 3-4 years or attempt clat 3-4 times as it just leads to wastage of time.
