Dear Shankar, NTA has clarified that students can appear in JEE Main twice a year in three consecutive years from the year of passing their class 12 exam. This makes JEE Main number of attempts to six in a span of three years. Also, for the age limit, there is no age limit set by NTA to give jee mains but only in span of three years from passing 12th.
All the best
Hope this helps
