Hello Ravi,

There is no limitation on number of attempt for the CSIR UGC NET exam. You can appear for the exam as many time as you want.

To apply for the CSIR NET exam, you have to fulfill eligibility criteria of the exam.

You should have minimum 55% aggregate marks, if you belong to General/OBC category or if you are from ST/SC/PwD category then you should have at least 50% aggregate marks.

You must be follow age criteria also. If you want to appear for the JRF NET exam then your age must not exceed 28 years. Reserved categories candidates get the 5 years’ relaxation in age limit.

For JRF there is age limit, in that limit you can apply whenever you want.

For Assistant Professor, there is no age limit.

No limitation for age , but UGC determined age limitation for JRF qualification. Age of 35 is upper age limit for OBC,SC,ST, and Women candidates for only JRF,But you can appear for CSIR NET for Lecturership only.

Hi,

There is no restriction upon number of attempts.

JRF-NET qualified Graduate Candidates

Candidates with bachelor’s degree, whether Science, engineering or any other discipline, will be eligible for fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D. programme within the validity period of two years.

JRF-NET qualified Postgraduate Candidates

CSIR Junior Research Fellows should register for PhD within a period of two years from the date of joining their fellowship, failing which the fellowship may be terminated. In exceptional circumstances, CSIR may consider giving extension for an additional period of one year. During the extended period, the Junior Research Fellowship will, however, not be upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship.  If at the end of 3rd year also, the fellow is not registered for PhD, the fellowship will be terminated.

The Fellowship shall stand terminated from the date of PhD viva-voce or from the date the Fellow resigns and his/her resignation has been accepted by CSIR or on completion of tenure. The fellowship may also be terminated if the institution where it is tenable refuses to provide facilities to the fellow on disciplinary grounds and so informs CSIR.

Thanks
