Hello!
A person can appear for six times in JEE mains after completing 12th board. Earlier it was three times but now as the exams are conducted twice, per year the chances for attempting is also increased to six. There is upper age limit, but you can take NEET for three consecutive years.
For JEE Advanced maximum times a person can appear for exam is twice.

According to the rules of NTA, a students can appear in JEE Main for three consecutive years from passing their class 12. Since, JEE Main conducts twice each year.
So, one can appear in JEE Main six times.
