it will depend on the candidate option list , their rank and cutoff for different branch. there is no way to predict it as it is a different process every year.

CSAB is done for NIT campus and many students will apply for NIT campus and 80-85% of seat matrix will get filled by last round. if any seat is left then that goes for spot counselling.

You have to check after every counselling round to know the accurate seats left for different branch.

After completion of josaa 2019 counselling there were approximately seats left in NITs, IIIT or gftis.

Now the filling of seats is in the hands of Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) which conducts this special round of counselling.
And in 2019 before special round counseling the central seat allocation board released the seat matrix indicating the vacant seats in nits, gftis and iiits.

As per the released seat matrix there were a total of 7464 vacant seats in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs for csab counseling, which is quite a very big number.

Even the popular branches like Computer Science and Electronics Engineering are vacant in prestigious NITs like NIT Warangal or NIT Delhi or NIT Calicut.
The newly opened IIITs were also got a good amount of vacant seats.
