is totaly depend on the candidate,HE/she can clear in very first attempt ,

can even take 6 attempts .All depend on his hardwork,willingness ,

Hiii Padmini!! Its very good of you to be interested in IAS. This is one of the most prestigious jobs of our country and you also are able to change the sicieso in a positive way if you get this job. To become an IAS you need to give the CSE Exam conducted by UPSE. To appear for this exam you need to have a graduation degree. Though there is no any fixed time to become an IAS after graduation. It depends on the number of attempts you take to clear the exam. Some complete in in the very 1st attempt some take more than that. You can give this exam untill you reach the upper age limit.
