In order to become a doctor you have to complete your graduation in MBBS. Duration of the course is 5.5 years. After completing your MBBS you will go for PG course MD/MS then it is 2 or 3 years depending upon the course.
You should complete your course sincerly to get good placement. For the better prospect of your career you should have some skills like deep knowledge in the field, good diagnosing ability, responsibility, self-confidence, caring nature, counseling skill and good communication so as to interact with your patients.

to become a doctor in india, you have to first clear neet-ug and study mbbs for 5.5 years( 4.5 years study and 1 year compulsory internship) . this is when you get the title of dr. Then you can get specialised(post grad) in various fields of medicine by getting MD/MS degree which are of 3yrs. if you think of doing pg abroad,then duration may vary depending on the country. you also have the option to do research by doing a phd . after pg , you can also go for superspeciality too.a minimum of 8-10 years is necessary to become a doctor. depends on degrees you attain,how many attempts you take to qualify the competetive exams , and also the country you study in. as soon as you pass mbbs, you do become a doctor but then only mbbs is not enough nowadays.pg is important.
