How much a general category student has to score to take admission in jipmer
Hello Madiha,
Well since there are only 200 seats in JIPMER and lakhs of appearing candidates to get a admission there in no other go than coming in top 200 or some where near to that atleast.
- For the main campus i.e., JIPMER Pondicherry, the closing rank is 100±5 in UR CATEGORY.
- Once the seats for Pondicherry are filled, many students start opting out as most suffer from insecurities of admitting themselves to a new campus like JIPMER Karaikal. As a result, closing rank for Karaikal drops down to 300s in UR CATEGORY.
- The opening JIPMER rank for UR category in the previous year (2018) for Puducherry campus was 1 and for Karaikal campus, it was 190.
Note :
- JIPMER Cutoff which is the closing rank to obtain admission will be finalised after the admission process is over.
- Candidates must note that all of those who will qualify the exam will not be called for the counselling process except for the open round of counselling.
Marks required to get admission in JIPMER MBBS :
- For a UR candidate, it is advised to aim for more than 160 marks in JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam.
- For OBC candidate, more than 153 marks should get admission.
- SC candidates must focus on getting more than 142 marks.
- ST candidates must try to get more than 123 marks.
Considering that the level of competition increases each day, it is further advised that you keep your target at least ten to fifteen marks more than the cut off. This will definitely help you in scoring good rank and landing in there!
Hope this helps!!
All the best :)
