IIT Kanpur has started using the CAT score to shortlist candidates for group discussion and interview for admission to MBA. The IIT Kanpur MBA cut off was expected to cross the 90 percentile score in CAT as it is a well-known, reputed institution. The actual figures after the declaration of the CAT results were higher than the expected value, pegged at 94.8+ percentile. The IIT Kanpur MBA cut off was decided by the IIT authorities on the basis of the number of applicants, their scores and its own internal benchmarks. Though the cutoff figures are an important tool to identify candidates for interview and group discussion, one has to perform well in the second phase also to secure a seat.

The final selection process also takes into consideration for a variety of factors such as academic background, work experience, gender diversity, CAT score as well as the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) scores. You can expect cut off for general category to be 95+ percentile.
