For appearing in JEE mains there is no percentage criteria one need have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam conducted by a recognized Central or State board like ICSE, CBSE, CISCE etc.
But for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs admissions, the candidates should have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For SC/ST category, a minimum of 65% marks required. It is important that they must have passed their class 12 examination in 2018 or 2019.
Now, as you mentioned there GPA rule in your institution there is formula in which the final percentage is calculated so you should apply that to fund out your overall percentage.
I hope this helps.
As per as my point of view,12th boards results scaled in percenatge not in Percentile,CGPA,SGPA etc.. Candidates who have aggregate 75% percentage in CBSE boards or comes under top 20% Percentile in state boards can appear in JEW MAINS in order to get benefits of JEE SCORE..
GOOD LUCK!
