Hello,

Its not about the quantity, but quality matters. I know people who cracked BITSAT and JEE with just 8-10 hours of regular study in class 11 and 12th.
And i also know people who put 12-14 hours but still not able to get a decent rank. So, its depends on candidate because everyone's mind is differently wired and one has to understand his weakness and strength and the try to capitalize on it.
Your focus shouldn't be on number of hours but your focus should be on completing the syllabus and solving every type of question. So put time accordingly, so that you syllabus gets completed, you do multiple revisions and then solve mocks and that will help you to get good rank.

I hope this helps.

Hi

More than the number of hours you study for preparation what matters is the quality of study. For example,

if you are studying 15 hours to 16 hours a day but without concentration and focus then it will be of less use as you will not be able to grasp well what you read and you will take longer time to cover a topic or chapter so quality matters a lot.

So, in general  focused study of 7-8 hours a day is enough for preparation.

Also, you don't need to prepare separately for BITSAT and IIT i. e JEE advanced, if you prepare for JEE main and advanced you will have automatically good preparation for your BITSAT just go through previous year question papers of BITSAT and mock test paper for BITSAT after your preparation

To prepare for JEE advanced examination follow the below tips :-

* Go through your syllabus well, while going through the chapters your major focus should be on clearing your concepts as JEE advanced examination is the examination which cannot be cleared without having deep understanding of the concepts and questions are often asked by mixing two- three concepts in JEE advanced. *Practice questions:- First start with exampes, so that you can learn how concepts are being applied to solve the problem and then go for unsolved questions and MCQs.

* Short breaks :- take short breaks in between your studies, studying continuously can be brain tiring and it becomes difficult to focus and study with concentration, so take breaks to relax and refresh your brain.

* Make short notes:- You should make chapterwise short notes for each chapter and it should contain all the important concepts and formulas. These short notes will be a great revision tool for your examination.

* Set  goals :- set daily  like I have to cover these many topics today, weekly goals like I have to  cover these chapters this week and  solve their mcqs too by the end of this week and similarly set monthly goals to cover the syllabus and meet them without any fail.

* Follow a routine or timetable :- you can make a routine and religiously follow it and try to give at least around 8 hours to study each day in your routine.

-) PHYSICS is the  toughest part for most of the aspirants  as it has both numericals and concepts to deal with , so keep at least 3 hours each day for Physics.

-) In Chemistry you have to deal with reactions and learn them and solve questions as well, so give at least 2 hours daily to Chemistry

-) Mathematics is all about practising questions, so try to give at least around 3 hours each day for maths

*Revise:-  revise your concepts,  formulas etc at regular intervals  . Revision is very important otherwise as you move forward in your syllabus, you start forgetting the concepts you have learned before and you won't be able to perform well in your examination.

*Solve previous year JEE advanced  question  :- Solving previous year questions will let you know the examination pattern, type of questions asked in the exam and difficulty level of questions, also concepts  of the questions often gets repeated so it will be of great help to you . You can get previous year papers at https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-question-papers

* Go through JEE advanced mock test papers :-  it will let you know your preparation level .After solving each mock test paper, analyse yourself which will help you to know your weak areas /topics  so that you can work on them and them strong so that you can perform well in your examination.

Hello,

The number of hours that you spend studying in a day will depend on your endurance.

I think rather than fixing time it would be better to fix the topics you would finish that day, and then accordingly set time required to cover those topics.

I understand it becomes really difficult to concentrate on your studies, specially during this time.

Below I will share some tips that will help you to concentrate better:

  • Find a time which is best suitable for you to study. Some find it better to concentrate in the morning while others find they can do better in the night.

  • Decide what portions you would like to finish in that particular day

  • Prepare a timetable according to the above, keeping slots for breaks

  • Start studying with your favorite subject, so that you don’t get bored from the beginning itself

  • Take breaks when you get bored, and try to avoid studying at a stretch for a longer duration.

  • Always keep some time apart for your hobbies, exercise, etc.

  • Eat healthy food, sleep well and also socialise. A healthy mind is the most important for good concentration

  • Do some mind games like Sudoku, Crossword puzzles, Chess, etc

  • Also try meditation

Following these I am sure you will be able to improve your concentration

Good Luck
