B.tech/B.E. is valued only if you pursue it from a college with good placement status.

If you manage to get into any of the top 7 IITs/ top 20 NITs/IIITs then it would be forever wise to join them :-) And if unfortunately you could not get into any of the above and have money and talent then it is better to go for other private colleges  like BITS Pilani, BIT Mesra, Nirma, VIT etc. which are comparable to some of the IITs and NITs in terms of placements. If you are getting admissions into any of the above mentioned do not miss the bus and study outside Chattisgarh!

Now if you are willing to study in Chhattisgarh, there is only one college of National Importance i.e. NIT Raipur with ranking under 10 among all NITs(placement wise). So  it would be the wisest decision to study at NIT raipur but the fight lies in getting into it. Considering that you are capable enough to get a seat at NIT Raipur through JEE Mains I will tell you why it is the best in Chhattisgarh. What matters at the end of the day is earning a job. Placements are best @ NIT Raipur as compared to other local colleges in CG. I am not bragging off just because I am an undergrad here but the statistics say this. In this year 2016, in CS/IT branches almost 80% of the eligible candidates are already placed and counting,with an average package more than 6 lpa. Amazon, Belzabar(PPO), Infoedge, Oracle,  Samsung, United Health Group are some of the big names that recruit from our college(better quality). Apart from these there are high paying startups like Drishti Soft which have also shown their interest in our college campus recruitments. Number of companies hiring from our college are more than fifty and increasing every year(more quantity).
