how much is the total marks for the CAT,GAT examination and qualifying marks
The CAT examination is of 3 hours and there are 100 questions of 3 marks each. There is a -1 negative marking for wrong answers.
The total marks is 300 for CAT. There is nothing like minimum qualifying marks in CAT. You have to clear all the sections with the required marks and you need to get percentile required to meet the cut-off.
For GAT, the examination is of 400 marks. There are 100 questions of 4 marks. This examination also has no minimum marks. The cut-off is released by the institute and the merit marks are determined according to the factors such as number of candidates appearing for the exam, performance of students, etc.
