How much Mark in pcm subject in 12 th class appearing a engineering
Hi Madhav Kendre!
I hope your studies are going well and grasping topics in a better way. As you are interested in Engineering stream, it is preferred that youare well-versed in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. These three subjects form the foundation of engineering course in initial years of study. The marks you secure in PCM would guide you to get enrolled in a good college where you can pursue your degree. It is mandatory that you must have atleast 75% marks in these three subjects collectively. The marks you secure becomes a deciding factor for collegs to take your admission. Additionally, you must perform well in competitive exams like JEE, BITSAT, SRMJEEE, VITEEE, etc. The private colleges take scores of their woen admission tests, plus the scores of PCM to take admission. To get through the top engineering insitutes like NITs and IITs, you must clear JEE Main and JEE Advanced respectively, along with decent board marks.
It is suggested that you must be thorough with all the main topics of PCM, at least with the textbook concepts as they would be continued in a more advanced manner in the first year of your college. Marks are important for admissions in colleges. If you are looking for colleges in your home land, then you must attempt state level engineering admission exams like MHTCET, KEAM, KCET, etc.
So, brush up your concepts well and do your level best to score decent marks.
For different engineering colleges there are different barriers for admission.
Eg. In IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs you need to score minimum 75% in 12th, it is not necessary to score 75% in PCM.
In VITEEE Eligibility Criteria mandates candidates to have secured at least an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the +2/Intermediate examination.
In JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY :
Pass 10+2from a recognized Council/Board in a regular class mode with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with at least 60% marks (45% marks for ST, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD).
Minimum 60% (45% forSC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks in Mathematics.
Pass marks in English with a minimum of 30% in the said qualifying examination
In BITS PILANI
Candidates must have secured minimum 75% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology in their qualifying exam or equivalent. They also need to have minimum 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology subjects in the qualifying exam.
Hope it Helps !!!!
