Greetings,

It is with utter disappointment that I inform you that it is impossible to determine the cut off marks for a particular state in the examination. Candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination may refer to previous years' cut off marks as a whole for the examination but not for any particular state as such.

There are two ranks provided to each of the candidates appearing for the examination. One is the All India Rank and the other is the Regional or State Rank. Candidates may choose from either of the two in order to test their eligibility for admission to any of the medical colleges spread across the country.

The cut off marks varies from year to year and so only an approximate can be determined from the evaluation of previous years' cut off.

I hope this piece of information proves to be of some help to you.

Hi. It all depends on whether you have state quota or category reservation. But I would suggest you to aim 550 plus to be on safe side. Good luck..

See it depends upon the toughness of paper..however according to the official notification released for neet ug exam, the minimum qualifying criteria for getting a seat is 50 percentile for general candidates and 40 percentile for reserved category candidates..

Also if you wish to get a seat of mbbs in good govt. medical college through all india quota counselling, try to have score of 540+ marks in neet ug..

Good luck..prepare well for your exam..

Hey Mahshin,

The score needed to get a seat in a medical college, depends on many variables. For example, it depends on which state you belong to, whether you are applying for 85% State Quota or 15% All India Quota, whether you belong to the General Category or Reserved category.

Now, assuming you belong to General Category seeking admission through the All India Quota, you must focus on obtaining a score of 550+ to ensure enrollment in a good medical college.

For now, focus on your concepts. Revise and relearn them. Concentrate on biology and numericals for Physics and Chemistry. If you work hard, you will definitely be able to get a good score and thereafter, a good Medical College. All the very best!

Dear Mahshin,

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 500+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.

If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -

Clear your basic concepts.

Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.

Solve previous year question papers.

Take mock tests to assess your progress.

Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams

Solve as much as numerical possible.

Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.

All the best.

Talking about government medical seats through all India quota, for general category, try to score around 580.

Atleast 400 marks if you are from the General category.

If you are from a reserved category, then the cutoff will be lower.
