To get admission in any college you need to be eligible for the cutoff of the respective branch you are seeking.
So for aerospace engg. , you need to verify from the website of the respective college .
Some colleges may keep below than the cutoff of jee mains and some may keep the criteria of jee main cutoff to get admission .
You need to check the website of the college.
Thank you.
Hi Kanika ,
See the branch is completely your choice but its actually about the college that you must clear which one you are wanting to take admission in. So please do specify

Hi Kanika.
For joining Aerospace Engineering at IIEST Shibpur, you need to have a score of atleast 170 or above according to last year's closing ranks. And it depends on you reservations and quota. For general category, the last rank admitted last year is 16087 in OS quota and 28894 in HS quota. I'd recommend you to calculate your score in JEE Main usng ananswer key, predit your rank using that score in a rank predictor and chaeck the last rank of last year for your quota and reservation. i'll leave the links below. -

Closing rank of 7th round, 2017 counselling is as follows:
Iiest, shibpur
Aerospace engineering
Open:16087
Obc:6243
Sc: 1813
St:2394
Home state quota-
Open:28894
Obc:22956
Sc:3046
St:1116
Good luck...
None of the NITs provide B.Tech in Aerospace so you will have to clear Jee advance and only 4 IITs and IIEST Shibpur provides this course, cut off is given below -
IIT Madras - 2995
IIT Bombay - 2036
IIT Kharagpur -3451
IIT Kanpur -3053
According to above given previous year closing ranks you will have to get 200+ as this would be safest score to get seat there in IITs
IIEST Shibpur - Closing rank for non domicile candidates was 16087 and for domiciled students it was 28000 in previous year.
Note - As there is nothing out for 2018 cut off so the above information is provided as per previous year. Also in coming years, the changes in cut off may/may not be there.
Hope this helps!!!
