How much marks required in 12 and how much %ile in CAT , to confirmed call from IIM
There cannot be any confirmation as such! There have been cases where even a 100 percentiler has not got call from all IIMs. As a lower limit, above 85% in 12 and above 99+ should do. I have assumed here that you are from general category and have no work ex.
Hi Aryan,
Although there is no specific class 12 percentage is prescribed for CAT, you must score well because marks in 10th and 12th class are considered in the final merit list and given certain weightage. To appear for CAT exam, you need to have at least 50% marks in graduation. Final year students of graduation can also apply. Check the entire eligibility here -
You are likely to get a call from new IIMs (IIM Sambalpur, IIM Jammu, IIM Ranchi etc.) if you score around 70-80 percentile in CAT. However, for older IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Lucknow etc., you would need to score 90 percentile and above in order to get shortlisted for the admission process.
Some other major B-schools in the country such as MDI Gurgaon, FMS Delhi, Great Lakes Chennai, JBMIS, IMT Ghaziabad etc. Also accept CAT scores for their admission process. However, they ask for very high CAT percentile to shortlist.
Check the CAT cutoff for all IIMs here.
