The main reason behind seat allocation is the rank and not marks. This is because both marks and ranks alter every year and every year has it's own story and outline.
Talking about the JEE pattern, if one fails to qualify any sectional cut-off, he/she is considered to be non-qualified. Whereas from JEE MAINS counselling one has the privelage to appear from state as JEE mains has state reservation as well as state category reservation and that too by following the national reservation percentage.
If you want to get a seat in the above mentioned colleges then it's prefer to look at the JOSAA website about the opening and closing rank for the respective colleges.
