There is no hard and fast rule to determine it. It changes from year to year based on level of difficulty and the number of students appearing for the exam.
Plus the exam pattern itself is different from this year(2018). The number of questions has come down to 100 from 175 while the number of hours has remained the same i.e 2 hours, so expect the cut off to go up this year as the aspirants will have more time to analyse the questions.
But what is certain are the ranks upto which each center fill it’s seat.
For CLC(my centre)- The seats are 389 for unreserved, 208 for OBC, 116 for SC and 57 for ST. For each of the category the rank upto which CLC fills up is slightly less than twice of total seats of that category i.e for example For OBC the CLC will fill up around rank 400.
450 marks for general would be enough
