Hello aspirant,
Before answering this question, firstly I will let you know that your rank matters in getting any medical college rather than marks. Although there are predictions using marks, but those are not accurate and change every year.
Talking about AIIMS, there is a lot of fluctuation every year and even in the same year, as you know there are two exams » one in morning and one in evening, there is a big difference.
I will tell you about my year i.e. 2015. A student getting around 132 marks in morning paper had same rank with the student getting around 111 marks in evening paper.
So you can say that percentile marks matter, not your actual marks. So actual marks are not the deciding factor in getting any medical college, it changes according to the difficulty level of the exam.
So what should you know?
For the 1st counselling, AIIMS puts a list of 1344 eligible candidates(336*4) as there are 336 seats for unreserved people. It does’t depend upon your actual marks till then as top 1344 people will be selected. This list is used till 3rd counselling.
If even after third counselling there are vacant seats, an open counselling is held in which a new list is generated in which candidates with more than 50 percent marks are eligible. Here all the candidates with more than 100 marks can come to the counselling. So here you can see, where your actual marks really matter.
Apart from the list, anyone can see their result of exam using their login ID or roll no. It shows marks of each subject along with your rank. It is for everyone, whether you are eligible or not for the counselling.
So when will you get AIIMS Rishikesh?
Talking about last year, within 1000 rank is safe to get AIIMS Rishikesh. However the last rank getting AIIMS Rishikesh fluctuates every year, within 1000 rank can be called safe.
Wish you best of luck for the exam!
