As you are preparing for admission into Anna University through gate examination, if you are of Home state quota then you need to have a percentage of 40-50 out if 100 in Gate exam. However if you are of other state then you should have a minimum of 50-55 percentage as your score.

The cut off marks depends upon various factors such as question paper complexity, no. of candidates appeared for the exam, highest marks obtained and many more. Thus, the cut off changes every year. Also, there are various category and quota is also present. Some of the seats are reserved for the candidates of home state.

So, overall, if you are a candidate of home state then you need to have more than 40 marks in GATE (out of 100) and if you belong from other states then you need at least 50-55 marks in GATE to get the chance of admission.
