You can definitely expect admission in NITs if you have a rank below 15000 being an SC candidate but since competition becomes tough every year so it's better to be below 10000 to be on the safer side. Moreover there are many good colleges which have come up recently that are equally good as NITs so students get distributed among them. But still it's advisable to maintain a rank below 10000.
