For getting admission in any engineering college in 2nd year for B.tech, you need to apply for Lateral entry examination after completing Diploma.Admission is based on marks secured in the entrance examination.Here your diploma marks will not be considered for admission but you will have to get 50% marks in diploma to be eligible for applying in Lateral entry examinations.
There are many colleges in India that offers lateral entry.
